Curriculum Outcomes
The students that successfully undertake this revised curriculum will be able to demonstrate the following competencies on graduation:
- Be able to apply the knowledge of mathematics, basic and engineering sciences to the solution of engineering problems
- Ability to conduct experiments in optical microscopy to determine the macro/micro and nanostructures of materials
- Be in a position to apply the core concepts in mineral processing engineering to develop flowsheets
- Be capable to design and conduct experiments to monitor and prevent corrosion of materials in corrosive environment
- Be capable of using design diagrams such as Elingham, Kellog and Pourbaix diagrams in heat treatment, roasting, extraction and corrosion studies
- Be in a position to work independently and as a team member engaged in engineering projects
- Ability to select materials for critical engineering components and for construction
- Possess skills to design productions in foundry, rolling, extrusion etc
- Possess the experimental and computational skills for a professional career in Materials Engineering
- Ability to identify, formulate and solve materials related engineering problems
